This work thing is tiring. My working week has rocketed from 2 lectures to 35 hours per week. And I've just spent about an hour trying to order magazines for the Amnesty Society, spelling out my names countless times.
Me: "C - A - R - O - L - A - N"
Stupid person: "C - A - R ..."
Me: "O - L - A - N"
Stupid person: "O ... wait .. C - A - R - O - L ..."
Me: "A - N"
Stupid person: "Say all that again?"
AGH! Then they get confused with the number of gs in my surname:
"Hang on, G - O - G - T ..."

Sorry, I type far too quickly and I spell things wrong ..
The classic is because ..
I always spell it 'becuase' ..
This reminds me of:

Try using those voice recognition things with an Irish accent. Having spent about twenty minutes trying to find cinema times I gave up in despair. WHYYYY? I'd far rather press buttons on my phone than have voice recognition software. Way too difficult.
I wish everywhere used email or instant messenger programmes... then they couldn't possibly get mistaken with names and places.... could they?
I should say, by the way, that the NUS Wales Women's Officer was very nice about it, and told me it was a lovely name.
